Could any man be more of a mystery? Despite my many decades of traveling the world, I have met few like Emil Regis. While he mostly keeps to himself, I have enjoyed his company over a drink now and then. Despite his rugged, youthful appearance, he enjoys history and philosophy the way that only an educated man can. Yet, it is not knowledge that he values most, but rather love, courage, and the depth of the human soul. His appreciation for poetry, drama, and the arts is refreshing in these times, where conversation of substance is hard to come by. His dress and style give away his Strovian heritage, and he makes little effort to conceal his foreign origins. I have encountered him most often sitting alone or with his closest friends in the late evening and early morning hours. He believes that art, drama, and music have the power to change the world for the better. Maybe if we spent more time singing, smiling, and dancing, we could set aside our differences and appreciate the beauty that lies within us all.
