Where do I begin? The first time I ever encountered Moxie, I assumed she was just a wayward ten-year-old girl who had lost her parents. Imagine my surprise when she opened her mouth, talking like she ran the whole town (or soon would, I presume). I can only surmise that the girl’s first words as an infant were “I’m” “in” and “charge.” She seems so full of life, it’s hard to imagine that even after a hundred years she would ever slow down. Although she appears less than a quarter my age, she talks like she has seen and done ten times more than I could ever dream. Though at times, her demeanor may seem dismissive and condescending, at her core she wants nothing more than to find friends, family, and fun…no matter who she has to kill to get it. I would not be surprised if I left for a year, only to return and discover this determined, adorable, fast-talking child has already conquered the world. But, despite all those wonders, I believe there is far more to her than even she knows. She is, in every way, a joy to be around.
